Ils sont les invites des plus grands festivals d'ete du continent nord americain (New Orleans Jazz Fest avec 400.000 spectateurs, Telluride Festival du Colorado, Folk Festival d'Edmonton au Canada).
Leur carriere debute en France a l'Olympia, en premiere partie de Yannick Noah.

Apres huit annees (de bons resultats dans des conditions plus ou moins bonnes) et apres mure reflexion, il a et decide de ne pas repondre a l appel d offre dont les conditions ne semblent plus du tout acceptables pour les professionnelles. (l appel d offre etant a la disposition de tous pour y apporter une appreciation).
" C est vrai que, ayant jusque-la produit toutes ses sessions du Tabarka Jazz Festival et du Festival de la World Music, beaucoup de gens ont du mal a ne pas nous associer automatiquement a eux. Mais ces festivals ne representent qu une partie de notre activite. Nous avons produit plusieurs evenements dont nous sommes tout aussi fier, dans le cadre du Ministere de la Culture et des festivals de Carthage et de Hammamet comme les concerts de James Brown, Lara Fabian, Patricia Kaas, Herbie Hancock. Le concert de Sting avec la FTH nous a donne beaucoup d emotion ainsi que le One World Beat Festival en mars 2003, qui a ete un franc succes et les concerts d Anouar Brahem qui ont ete un exemple d organisation a-t-on dit !
C est vrai que, notre experience avec le Tabarka Jazz Festival nous a beaucoup apporte, c est en quelque sorte notre bebe, mais cela ne veut pas dire que nous sommes lies ad vitam eternam. Toute experience a une fin et il faudra savoir s arreter a temps. Nous l avons deja fait par le passe avec l ASDAS en plein boom alors, les choses evoluent et changent, c est ineluctable.
Le festival de Jazz a atteint sa maturite et maintenant qu il est sur les rails, nous pouvons envisager de nous retirer avec un bilan plus que positif. Il vaut mieux arreter une experience trop tot.
Nous sommes certains que les responsables de ce festival sauront faire les choix adequats, comme ils l ont toujours fait et que leurs decisions sauront preserver ce festival, qui est aujourd hui, on peut le dire le fleuron des festivals en Tunisie." U P

 Manfred Eicher
Manfred Eicher (born 1943) studied music at the Academy of Music in Berlin. In 1969 he founded the Edition of Contemporary Music (ECM) for which he is recording producer, publisher and editor.
Hundreds of records made under his artistic direction include those of Keith Jarrett, Jan Garbarek, Chick Corea, Gary Burton, Dave Holland, Egberto Gismonti, Paul Bley, Pat Metheny, Paul Motian, Dino Saluzzi, John Surman, Ralph Towner, Terje Rypdal, Bobo Stenson and the Art Ensemble of Chicago.

It all started", recalls the label's founder Christoph Borkowsky Akbar , "when I went to Africa in the seventies to research for my thesis on resistance movements against German colonialism. The best bit of my field-studies were the weekend parties with huge "ghettoblasters", radiating music from Boney M to Dolly Parton. When the batteries wore off the people would start making music themselves. This was cool and very stimulating. Having returned to Germany I soon found myself in a state of utter depression, due to the uninspiring atmosphere at the University. It was then that I realised what a potential lay in such music, in this different music which was able to sustanin one's mental and physical health."

The Worldwide Music Expo WOMEX is the largest international gathering for world music professionals. It is a great networking point exclusively dedicated to world, roots, folk, ethnic, traditional and local music of all kinds. After its debut in Berlin (1994) and editions in Brussels (1995), Marseilles (1997), Stockholm (1998), WOMEX returned to Berlin (1999 and 2000) to celebrate 100 years of World Music in the capital of many cultures in the heart of Europe. In 2001 the show continued traveling across Europe, this time to The Netherlands. The 2002 edition took place in Essen, Germany The 2003 edition took place in Seville, Spain.
